Sean Agrees On Season 3

26/06/2024

Edinburgh Capitals are delighted to announce the return of forward Sean Cochrane for the 2024-25 SNL campaign.

The 28-year-old centreman is back with the club for his third consecutive season having signed from Kirkcaldy Kestrels in 2022. In the last two seasons, Sean has played 71 games for the Caps, scoring 28 goals and 48 assists for 76 points.

Sean brings a wealth of experience to the forward line having played in the SNL for over 10 years. Over the last two years, he had popped up with some vital goals in big games when we needed them most. When given a chance Sean will find the net and when in full swing is one of the fastest skaters in the team.

Also, how can we ever forget “that game winning goal” back in January 2023 when, with only 1 second left on the clock Sean scored with a slapshot from just over the red line at mid-ice? That ping off the inside pipe will live in our memory for many years here at Murrayfield.

Born in Kirkcaldy Sean progressed through his hometown club’s junior system before stepping up to the Kestrels in the SNL in 2012-13. He would play a big part in the Kestrels team for the next 10 years winning the SNL League title in his final year of 2021-22.

Coming back for a 3rd season excites Sean and he had this to say, “I’m buzzing to be back in the Lion’s Den to play in front of the insane crowd we have once again.

We as a team still have unfinished business and we are all hoping to build on last year’s success!

With the group of guys we have signed so far and you incredible fans we know we will be pushing for every trophy available to us once again.

Hopefully, come next April we will have some more silverware to share with you all. See you all in a few months.”

Head Coach Steven Lynch is again delighted to have the experience of Sean’s on the forward lines this coming season. “It’s fantastic that Sean has committed to the club for another year. I’ve known him for a long time and value a lot of the qualities he brings to the team. He has great speed, knows where the net is, and has a winning mentality.

Now as he’s becoming one of the more senior players on the team, we’ll be looking for him to lead by example out on the ice and play his part in achieving our goals for the season.

He’s a guy you put out on the ice in any situation and be confident that he’ll get the job done.”

We hope you are all happy with the team being put together. We are not finished yet and more signings will be released very soon.

LET’S GO CAPITALS!
