The Boss Is Back In Town

28/06/2024

Edinburgh Capitals are excited to announce that forward Ross ‘The Boss’ Borwick will be back at the club for the 2024-25 SNL campaign.

Edinburgh-born Ross is back for his 3rd season as a Caps player, and he hopes to play a big part in the upcoming season.

In 2023-24, he grabbed 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points in 40 games. He would also spend 125 minutes in the penalty box, showing he was not scared to drop the gloves if necessary.

Although Ross has a feisty side to his game, he can also contribute and score some very important goals throughout the last campaign. He also wore an ‘A’ on his jersey, showing he is a leader both on and off the ice despite being only 23 years old.

Growing up part of the Murrayfield junior system, he would spend a couple of years in Kirkcaldy before returning to his home club. He stepped up to the SNL in 2017-18 with the Caps before spending the next two years on the roster of a very successful Murrayfield Racers team.

We caught up with Ross, and he is delighted to return. “I’m glad to be back again for another season. It’s a great group to be a part of and it’s great playing in front of all the Caps fans.

We came up just short last season in a few competitions so hopefully we can change that and win even more silverware this season.

We will be ready to go come September and we look to give all you fans something to celebrate at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.”

Head Coach Steven Lynch is also happy to have The Boss back on the roster. “Ross has become a very important part of things here at Murrayfield over the last couple of years. He wears a letter on his jersey as one of our leadership group, plays with his heart on his sleeve, isn’t afraid to get his nose dirty, and is a well-liked guy in the dressing room.

He’s the type of role player that every team needs in order to be successful and we’re delighted that he’s back for another year.

He’s been growing and developing his game since the Caps reformed and we’ll be looking for him to continue playing with the same passion that he’s shown previously as he can give the whole team a lift at times by playing the way he does.”

The team is taking shape and more signings will be announced soon.
